Pictured with his family, Todd Ellingson has stepped into a role of giving at his mission in Rwanda, the City of Joy. On Sunday, January 1st, Todd will be speaking at Spirit of Hope. Here is a little background on his story, in his own words:
We moved to Rwanda 7 years ago and started a school and a church. The private Christian school includes an elementary school of 163 students in kindergarten through 4th grade. The school also includes a sewing school that teaches a year long program to vulnerable young women. The church has a local pastor and has seen incredible growth in its 1 1/2 years of existence. Over 110 people have been baptized and made public professions of their faith. God is moving powerfully in the neighborhood with over 230 people attending weekly worship on Sunday.
City of Joy Rwanda hopes to expand its ministry by building 10 new classrooms for the elementary school at $10,000 per classroom. Each student needs an additional of sponsor of $40/month. They hope to also expand the church by hiring more staff and continue to fulfill the Great Commission to “make disciples of all nations”! (Matthew 28)
