“ Do not be conformed to this world,[a] but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.” ( Romans 12:2 NRSV)
“Romans 12:2 is a scripture reading I can relate to because I feel that even when I’ve gone through hard times I’m not perfect. I know I have made some bad decisions in my life, but at the end of the day, I know God is always going to be there to love and forgive me. God will help me get through the times when I feel like giving up. God gives me the strength to pull myself out of the gutter and get out of my head the things that bring me down. God replaces all the negative feelings with a love that can bring me up. This verse has also helped me realize how much being in confirmation class has taught me. What it has taught me is that the Bible can be interpreted differently and that it touches on subjects that help and educate me. It really goes in depth about things I didn’t even know about and I have really grown in my knowledge about what we all believe in. I have realized that God is going to take us on a winding crazy path in life but God will always be there walking right by our side even if we don’t know it. God is going to love us even with all our imperfections and mistakes”. AMEN

“How very good and pleasant it is when kindred live together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1 NRSV)
I chose this bible verse because I know God will always be there for me. I know I can do anything if I have him in my life and have a relationship with him.
Jesus is our creator God who makes all living things. God does not create junk. In Gods eyes everyone is perfect even though we want to do things that may not be perfect in Gods eyes. Sin destroys God’s perfect creation distorting what life can be. Jesus forgives our sins and restores creation and our relationship with Him even though we do not deserve it.
I can be happy even in those times in my life when things are not going well because it is Christ who gives me strength to move beyond those not so good days. AMEN!

Then his wife said to him, “Do you still persist in your integrity? Curse God, and die.” But he said to her, “You speak as any foolish woman would speak. Shall we receive the good at the hand of God, and not receive the bad?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips. (Job 2:9-10 NRSV)
“In this verse, I relate to Job's wife when she tells him to curse God. I can understand where she is coming from because it's hard to keep faith sometimes when so many bad things are happening to you. However, I admire the fact that Job not only kept faith but also never cursed God.
I relate to this verse because I have been through some hard times that made it very hard for me to keep faith, especially when my grandfather passed away. However, my mother helped me regain my faith. My relationship with God wasn't very good for a while, due to this very difficult times. Though now my relationship with him has definitely gotten better.
Confirmation for me was fun even though it challenged me. It also helped me understand things from a new perspective of what it means to be a Lutheran Christian. Confirmation was one of the best things I have ever done. AMEN
