Saturday, December 3rd: We will begin our play practice; assigning parts and rehearsing and then playing a Christmas Story game.
Our first Spirit of Hope Family Advent Craft Night will take place following our potluck on December 3rd. Craft tables will be set up, each with a craft for 12. A sign-up sheet will be on each table so you can choose the craft you would like to make. There will be a variety of crafts for your home or to give as gifts: advent wreathes, ornaments, bracelets, etc.
Saturday, December 10th: We continue play practice and will watch a movie.
Saturday, December 17th: We will get ready and perform at about 5:45 p.m. Our play is about 10 minutes in length, and is called "Happy Birthday, Jesus". The setting is a classroom; the kids are waiting patiently for their teacher who is late. As they wait, they discuss Christmas (secularly). Eventually one child reminds them that it is the birth of Jesus that we celebrate. We will sing the Happy Birthday song, and conclude the service with a birthday celebration complete with balloons and birthday cake.
Our traditional hayride caroling event will take place after we eat pizza on December 17th, as well. We will return to the Church after caroling for hot cocoa and cookies.
Please bring your child(ren) to every Saturday Night Alive December 3rd-17th, if they wish to participate in our play and our other fun-filled activities.
Saturday Night ALIVE is open to children from Kindergarten through 6th grade. Families can come to worship at the 5 p.m. "Lift" service, where the kids can sing and praise God through uplifting music, pray and take communion. After communion, they will meet up with leaders as the group is led to the classrooms for Bible stories told in dramatic skits, fun and games children participated in Jesus' time, and a variety of crafts. Study of Jesus will be presented in a "kid-friendly" environment. Pre-registration is appreciated. Sign-up below.
